We received a very thorough and extensive investigation by Dr Ganesan into the anxiety and OCD type problems experienced by our 16 year old daughter and the associated problems experienced by myself and my wife. This was done over the telephone as the link with MS Teams didn't work. The call lasted in excess of two hours, during which time Dr Ganesan was also taking notes. I have not been able to select home from the I was seen at box.

It was a very thorough online teams meeting to discuss my child's issues and to help him with his anxiety and ADHD. Dr Ganesan interacted well with my child and myself and understood and worked well with him. There seems however to be some confusion as to which department my son should have been referred to. Dr Ganesan recommended he be under the ADHD team however the ADHD team referred him to Dr Ganesan because his main medication (which was prescribed by a private consultant) is not an ADHD medication they prescribe - Aripiprazole, however my son has subsequently also been prescribed Methylphenidate by the private consultant too.

Dr Prem Ganesan is truly exceptional! As my son continues to go through a very personal challenge in his life and we scarcely exist at rock bottom. He came in to do a face to face appointment for my son despite his own health issues. He truly listened to me, I mean he actually listened to me and heard my concerns. He was very thorough and caring and his care plan for my son was conveyed clearly and compassionately. He explained everything so I could understand. He showed compassion and empathy and was so easy to talk to. Dr Ganesan was very personable and respectful. I never felt that I was just another crisis to him; you can tell he really cares. I hope good health returns for him soon and that he can continue to be the difference to families like ours when all hope is lost. It has been my absolute pleasure to meet Dr Ganesan and in writing this review I hope that I have done you deserved justice. Helen Sabroche (Mum)

As the mental health team lead I had the pleasure of working with Dr Prem Ganesan between February 2020 and July 2020. I found Dr Ganesan to be extremely knowledgeable , a man of great character, honest and reliable. While he was with us he was a very valued member of our mental health team and it was noted that he has a gift of forming positive therapeutic relationships with some of the country’s’ hardest to reach and marginalised young people. He is kind and compassionate and has a positive attitude; I was very impressed with his ability to handle stressful situations and get our young people to relax and calm down when others could not. Dr Ganesan is one of the most dedicated and hardworking psychiatrists I have worked with and nothing is ever too much for him. He is calm and reliable and I found him dependable during the entire time he was with us.

I had the pleasure of working with Dr. Ganesan for approximately 4 months last year. Dr. Ganesan visited Rainsbrook STC every Tuesday morning for a 2 hour clinic, face to face assessments of young people. Due to the Covid-19 outbreak, this was an extremely challenging and stressful period for the Healthcare Team. Sadly, we lost a colleague, and I thank Dr. Ganesan for his compassion, dignity and support during this terribly difficult time. I found Dr. Ganesan to be an extremely knowledgeable, competent and safe professional. He practiced/medicated within the NICE guidelines framework, always highlighting the significance of psychological interventions. During his time with us, we were able to develop/increase the level of care we gave to our young people. Dr. Ganesan is friendly, approachable, helpful, and is very good at engaging complex young people. Dr. Ganesan would invariably work over his allotted 2 hours, on occasions seeing young people, completing prescriptions or writing up his clinical entries. Dr. Ganesan would also make himself available in the week should we require any psychiatric support/guidance. Unfortunately, Dr. Ganesan had to go off sick, he was very much missed within the team. Once he had returned to work we had no hesitation in asking him if he would return, this wasn’t an option. I would like to wish Dr. Ganesan all the very best for his future.
